Here is a picture of my family enjoying Canoing on St. Mary’s Lake on Saltspring Island in 2009. Although the fishing rod is out of site. The kids are learning the finer points of fishing from their Dad and how to handle a canoe packed with people. This sharing of knowledge is instrumental in there growth and independence and helps concrete what I have learned in the past. The passing of this story or knowledge creates a new story for my kids to pass to their friends and family.
